Don Bosco International Media Academy – COVID 19: Plans and Protocols

Together we are facing a truly unprecedented global event that affects every aspect of all our lives, including how we plan for our future, and the future of our families. Here at DBIMA we would like to assure you that we are taking every precaution to ensure a safe environment for our students. And in consideration of our current situation, we would like you to know some of the benefits we offer our students.

Firstly, we are a school with a very few, select students (only 10 students per session). This not only provides for a better education, due to a lower professor to student ratio, but also allows for plenty of individual space for each student.

Secondly, we have developed a unique online e-campus. This state-of-the-art e-learning platform was developed exclusively for the Don Bosco school network and offers an unprecedented campus-like experience, allowing students to learn, participate, and collaborate with others almost as if they were there in person. Students will have the option to study on this platform for the first year (or a portion thereof) until they are ready to attend the campus in person. This offers ‘peace of mind’ to students and parents alike.

Thirdly we are completely focused on the health and safety of our students, faculty and staff. In order to achieve the safest educational environment, we have implemented the following protocols.

Hand sanitizing stations will be located throughout the campus and will be required use before entry to each class

Computer keyboards and other shared equipment will be disinfected between each use. (Students are encouraged to bring and use their own laptops if possible)

Social distancing will be enforced. DBIMA has limited the number of students to 10 per session allowing for adequate space between each student.

All professors, staff and management will be required to take a Covid-19 test before commencement of courses. (Tests will be made available to students on request)

An ID security system ensures that only students and staff have access to the campus.

All professors, staff and management will be required to wear ministry approved face masks. Masks will also be made available students.

No professors, staff, management, nor student will be permitted to attend class while sick – for any reason. All staff are covered by state-paid sick leave and students can access the online courses while ill.

Student accommodation on the DBIMA campus will be limited to single room occupancy with first aid available to students 24/7

Every student, regardless of country of origin, will receive French medical insurance. The French healthcare system is amongst the best in the world with hospitals that are well funded, modern and well-equipped.

The Don Bosco community has a number of doctors and nurses who are part of our team. They are working with us to help create an environment of well-being for all our students and staff. All students have access to this aid and care 24/7
